The resolution of the extensometer depends on strongly from the design but also from the overall factors, such as quality of the used signal conditioners and the data acquisition system. With a single chip, chopper-based technology (e.g. Analog Devices Inc, Bridge Transducer of the Type 1B32 or from Vishay Company Type BA-660 ) signal conditioner card it is thus possible to acquire signals having low noise to signal ratio.
The size of the signal conditioner card is 30 mm x 40 mm and is integrated inside the read out electronic aluminum box. The Company CEME currently produces standard two channel signal conditioners, which fulfil the requirement of sound µV range signal conditioning. Furthermore, several signal conditioning boxes can be daisy chained to bundle multiple signals.
