The Company has a long standing expertise on specific type of material measurements in particular in cryogenic regime. The filed reference list gives to the reader of this homepage an impression of the material testing involvements in the last decades. The material test consulting comprise apart from standard tensile tests also a variety of different structural important tests. These are as follows:
· Tensile tests, with the target to determine Young’s modulus, Poison’s coefficient, yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, total elongation, and the complete stress versus strain record.
· Fracture toughness of structural and non structural materials using the recently approved new ASTM standard E 1450. Linear elastic fracture mechanics, elastic-plastic fracture toughness tests according to J-Integral test. In addition, the developed JETT test for extreme small size specimens.
· Fatigue crack growth rate tests with standard compact tension specimens.
· Fatigue life tests for establishment of S-N records
· Thermal expansion of materials between room temperature and 4.5 K
In addition to those test methods also consulting of structural displacement measurements is one of the major topics. Within this context the involvement of the Company in the measurement task of AMS project is referred.
